Bedouin Society Trip, Jan. 19th, 2012

Hi to all,

Next Thursday, 19/1, we will go out to our last trip of this semester,
the Bedouin society of the Negev trip.

8:00 AM- Leave parking lot of building 72

9:00- Visit to "Bat Hamidbar" at Tel-Sheva. "Bat Hanidbar"  (=the
daughter of the desert) is a place owned  by one Bedouin woman who
manufactures soaps, lotions etc out of the desert's vegetation. She
will tell us about her life and as a working woman in the Bedouin
society and how she's producing her merchandise. You can also buy
products if you like...

10:30- Visit to the unrecognized village Awajan with a local guide.
The guide will show us the village and explain about the issue of
unrecognized villages from a local point of view.

12:00- Visit to Sidra organization in Lakiya. Lakiya is a recognized
village, and Sidra is an organization of Bedouin women who gathered
together for weaving and selling their products.

14:30- Back in BGU.
