American Jewish League for Israel*

The University Scholarship Fund of the American Jewish League for Israel is a scholarship program to assist students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents to study in Israel. The purpose of the program is to foster Jewish spiritual and cultural values through the experience of living and studying in Israel and, at the same time, strengthen the ties that bind Jews in the United States to Jews in Israel so that upon returning to the United States, scholarship winners will be better able to communicate those ties to American Jewry.

Open Apartments Program

The Open Apartments Program exemplifies the University’s special involvement within the community. In this Program, in exchange for rent-free housing in apartments situated among the “underprivileged” neighborhoods of Beer-Sheva and rented by the University from the "Amidar" housing company, students contribute their talents and academic skills to advance the well-being of the residents of their local neighborhood. The ‘Open Apartments’ Program exposes the students to a unique educational and social adventure.
